Edit: "Is it male or female?" We all know the answer, but no one wants to hear it. I'm just going to go ahead and say what everypony probably prefers. Since Fluttermac's name is more 'Fluttershy' than 'Big Macintosh', I think Fluttermac is a mare. She looks more like a mare, anyway.
